VIDEO: Hungry for Education

Research has shown that children who were poorly nourished in the early years of their life routinely performed worse in school.

“I believe that hunger is a cause of a lot of things like crime, and children not being able to go to university,” reflects Kabelo, a 16-year-old living in Diepkloof in Soweto.

When he and his twin brother, Keabestwe, started receiving daily meals from the African Children’s Feeding Scheme, they noticed a difference in their ability to concentrate and perform at school.
