READ all about how we reported on obesity prevention, started a campaign against rape, and broke the Esidimeni story on television in our latest Annual Report
Health-e News Service has had a busy year, and this is reflected in our latest annual report (1 July 2016 – 30 June 2017).
In the year in review we:
- Broke the Esidimeni story on television with eNCA.
- Started a campaign against rape called Izwi Lami (‘My Voice”) because we are tired of writing story after story about rape and seeing rape survivors not getting proper treatment at health facilities.
- Became part of an exciting global campaign against obesity, joining a partnership with civil society and media organisations in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia and recently Jamaica and Barbados.
All this happened while we continued to report on all other aspects of health – from the National Health Insurance (NHI), to HIV innovations, tuberculosis research – and train young people to become health reporters through the OurHealth project.
Please read our annual report for more information about what we have been doing.
