Report: South African Dept of Health Annual Performance Plan 2014/15 – 2016/17
The plan provides a comprehensive look at planned health activities across years. The document also outlines indicators and persons responsible for reporting on these within designated cycles. Specific data limitations are also cited for each indicator.
Among the specific goals outlined in the annual performance plan are:
- The 2013/14 release of a conceptual framework for a National Health Insurance (NHI) Fund;
- NHI pilot coverage in 50 percent of the country’s health districts by 2018/19;
- 400 professional nurses trained to initiate multidrug-resistant (MDR-TB) treatment by 2018/19;
- One million medical male circumcisions done annually by 2018/19; and
- 90 percent of all prioritised HIV, TB and cancer medications registered for use in South Africa within 22 months by 2018/19.
